Someone check on the Tumblr girlies, ‘cos 2010s OG it girl Sky Ferreira has accused Charli xcx of using her old demos in her latest album, Wuthering Heights.
The scathing allegations against Charli xcx first surfaced six weeks ago when the “Everything Is Embarassing” songstress commented under a meme about their collaboration on the 2026 Wuthering Heights album.
“Charli getting Sky Ferreira in the studio for Wuthering Heights,” the meme said.
“To record my old songs******,” Ferreira wrote.
Now, weeks after that pointed comment, Ferreira fired up with her claims after an X user named Leon questioned her “form of income”.
“Someone sent me to your X account,” the singer began on the X user’s Instagram account.
“I toured for years. I work. I hate to break it to you, but your favourite artists record my old songs. I hope that answers your question.”

Hours later, Ferreira returned to the same post, this time sharing a lengthy statement on what she claims has happened to her as an artist and her music, stating she is “over being dragged and humiliated for no reason”.
“It brought back a lot of things I have worked really hard to move past,” she began on the same post in a separate comment.
“No one ‘saved’ or helped me. My life was destroyed for over 10 years, and it’s a public joke. Publications etc. It isn’t funny; it allows people to disrespect and take advantage of me, or to manipulate multiple situations based on their perception of me.
“I wasn’t allowed to do anything. I mind my own business, so I don’t know why everything is so loaded. I don’t want to be harassed. I don’t want the actions of multiple people fucking things up for me and my album. I’m an honest person. People don’t care about the truth. It’s about whatever narrative is fitting or more exciting. I’m glad I can finally move on with my life.”

Sky Ferreira responds to industry insider’s claims on her beef with Charli xcx
In a now-deleted tweet, Leon claimed he “asked [an] industry insider about the Sky X Charli” claims. According to Leon’s “industry insider”, they claimed that Charli xcx’s “Eyes Of The World” and the “Chains Of Love” intro were taken from Ferreira’s “Ancient Idols”, and that “Altars” was originally a 2015 demo from Ferreira.

The singer clocked the now-deleted tweet and told Leon, “Your industry ‘insider’ is wrong. Close but wrong.”
“I’m not going to get into it, but it was definitely more than an intro. I have proof of everything with dates. It isn’t worth the trouble [because] I know how the world works.”

Fans of both Charli and Ferreira are distraught, especially since the pair have previously collabed on projects before the Wuthering Heights album. They’ve also been spotted together at events, and in 2024, the pair reunited at the Babygirl premiere alongside fellow music icon, Caroline Polachek.
At the time of writing, Charli xcx has not responded to Ferreira’s claims.
