Stephen Amell, Sean Astin & J Balvin Thriller ‘Little Lorraine’ Gets Sales Deal Ahead Of Toronto Launch

EXCLUSIVE: Danielle Gasher’s Vaneast Pictures has picke dup worldwide sales rights for the upcoming thriller Little Lorraine starring Stephen Amell (Arrow), Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings), Rhys Darby (Our Flag Means Death), Stephen McHattie (Watchmen: A History of Violence) and five-time Latin Grammy Award winner J Balvin in his feature film debut.

Directed by Andy Hines, Little Lorraine is co-written by Hines and Adam Baldwin. The movie will have its world premiere at this week’s Toronto International Film Festival in the Discovery section.

The synopsis reads: “In the wake of a deadly mining explosion, a desperate family man is lured into a lucrative but dangerous scheme — running drugs under the cover of a lobster boat. As the operation spirals into an international cocaine ring, the crew is hunted by law enforcement and trapped in a deadly web of greed and betrayal.”

Pic is produced by Wango Films’s Tim Doiron and James van der Woerd along with Michael Volpe of Topsail Entertainment. Executive producers include Nic Neary and Vanessa Amodeo.

“Vaneast is thrilled to be partnering with James and Tim from Wango Films on Little Lorraine. The film is an incredibly tense thriller with real commercial punch and strong appeal for global audiences, and we’re excited for it to debut as part of this year’s TIFF lineup,” said Danielle Gasher, Vaneast Pictures.

“As a Maritimer, I’m proud to bring Little Lorraine to the world stage,” said producer Tim Doiron. “Our communities have always found strength and resilience in the face of hardship, and that spirit is at the heart of this story. To have our film premiere at TIFF is an incredible honour, and we believe Little Lorraine will stand as a testament to both the grit and the charisma of Canadians everywhere. We’re thrilled to be working with Danielle and the team at Vaneast, whose passion and expertise make them the perfect partners to share this film with audiences worldwide.”
