The Block fanbase has been lit up with online debates and blame games after Britt and Taz‘s shed/wine cellar/bar was deemed non-compliant in Tuesday night’s episode.

While Landscaping Week is an exciting time for The Block cast, it unfortunately kicked off on a bad foot for Western Australia duo Britt and Taz after their wine cellar was deemed non-compliant.
You see, building a wine cellar is all good! However, a bar — or “speakeasy” as Britt and Taz have called it — in the shed would be “illegal”, per The Block rules.
Before they could kick off with landscaping on Tuesday night, Britt and Taz were told that their shed was not compliant, despite Britt claiming that they had finalised the design and planning before the build.
Ultimately, the room was deemed non-compliant and will need to be changed for the house to be sold.

“What the hell,” Britt said in a confessional.
“Like we sacrificed three months of our lives to be here. At the end of the day, to try and sell the house to set our own family up and then for him to say, ‘You can’t sell your house’, you’re like, what — that’s why we’re here.”
During the heated chat, Taz pushed back, stating they’re facing “double standards”.

“It’s just so frustrating,” Taz shared.
“‘Cos you try and do the right thing, right?” Britt chimed in.
“You try to get everything ticked off, and it was, and then for them now to say ‘Oh, actually’.”

“It’s just so rubbish,” Taz added.
“It doesn’t make any sense, and we’re getting sick of it.”
Fans react to Britt and Taz’s shed situation
With Britt and Taz forced to spin the block on their shed (haha, see what I did there?), some agreed with the decision that their “speak easy” wasn’t compliant, not only to the build but also to the rules of The Block.

However, others reckon this outcome was Foreman Dan‘s fault as he seemingly approved Britt and Taz’s design, and others agreed with Taz’s claim that they’ve copped some kind of “double standard”.
So frustrating that things get to final stages, only to be found illegal. Where the fck is Dan, or other Block staff during these builds???? #theblock

If there’s one thing we do know about the controversial “speakeasy”, fellow Western Australian Han was not happy that Britt and Taz initially got away with their shed build.
But to save themselves from more drama, Britt and Taz decided to keep their lips sealed on what they were told about their shed.
Honestly, a smart move considering that things have been heating up around them since the whole subframe debacle!
It will be interesting to see how they will change their luxe space (which I absolutely frothed TBH) to make it “compliant”. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
