The Minister of Housing is on an extensive tour of the project "Fustat Hills Gardens" In Cairo Governorate

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, inspected the recent works of the “Fustat Hills Gardens” project on an area of 500 acres in the Old Cairo area in Cairo Governorate, which is adjacent to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, Ain Al-Sira Lake, the Religious Complex, and the Amr Ibn Al-Aas Mosque, accompanied by engineer Mahmoud Nassar, head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction, and officials from the Ministry of Housing and Companies.

 

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny toured the various components of the project, starting with the investment area and the Arena project, where the investment area is located on an area of 131,000 square meters and overlooks Ain Al-Hayat Lake and includes (12 restaurants – 4 commercial malls – 4 parking garages) and behind it is an area that allows for the holding of many large official celebrations including the Roman theatre, the water fountain, and site landscaping works, in addition to To the Adventure Zone, which contains a number of service buildings, lakes, and crops.

The Minister of Housing moved to follow up on the progress of work in the Cultural Zone and the River Zone. The Cultural Zone is located opposite the main entrance gate to the Fustat Hills Park project on Salah Salem Road. It is considered one of the distinctive areas, and has a main axis on the Civilization Museum and is surrounded by a group of squares that include cultural activities, restaurants, and other services. Celebrations are scheduled to be held there throughout the year. The main gate includes (4 restaurants). Cafeterias with a building area of 216 m2, and 3 fountains, in addition to infrastructure and agricultural works for an area of 26,864 m2. The Minister of Housing also inspected the Adventure Zone, which contains a number of service buildings, lakes, and crops. It consists of a games area, 3 service buildings, a children’s play building with an area of 505 square metres, a service building with an area of 167 square metres, a toilet building with an area of 167 square metres, and facilities and site coordination works with an area of 97,238 square metres.

The Minister of Housing and his companions toured the hills and valley area: the hills area is divided into three different hills. The heights between which the waterway (river) passes, and they graduate into a group of terraces starting from the edge of the river and ending up to the top of the hill, giving the top of the hills views of the project, the surrounding area, the Citadel of Salah al-Din, and the pyramids, and it includes the “Casbah Hill” The facility covers an area of ​​13,000 square meters (a tourist hotel – service buildings – parking lots – an artificial lake), terraces and seating areas overlooking the waterfall, a pedestrian bridge to connect, a cafeteria, a waterfall, and “Hafir Hill”. Work is underway to make the area an integrated archaeological and cultural tourist attraction by excavating the remains of the city of Fustat on an area of ​​​​about 47 acres to reach the architectural composition of the archaeological city and restore it, with the construction of a 1 km long walkway with a height of 1.5 m from the excavation area around the archaeological city of Fustat (excavations) to connect the tourist service buildings to the general site to invest the heritage area as a tourist area with a distinct character, while it includes the "Heritage Gardens Hill" Terraces, buildings for visitors, restaurants, and a wooden space overlooking the lake, showing the detailed plans of those hills and the various paths and gardens they contain, and areas for restaurants, celebrations, and entertainment.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, and his companions, also inspected the market area, which is a commercial area with an area of 60,000 square meters, the goal of which is to stimulate tourism, support the state’s economy, and stimulate handicrafts and heritage, the most prominent of which are glass, ceramic, wax, spinning, and weaving works. The market area will be implemented in 3 phases and consists of (19 commercial stores – parking lots – artificial lake – agricultural spaces – 3-star hotel). At the conclusion of the tour, the Minister of Housing directed the need to intensify work to complete the final touches of the project, in addition to directing the officials of the Central Reconstruction Agency to deal immediately and take various necessary measures to complete the project on its scheduled dates, stressing his full support for them.
