The Minister of Social Solidarity directed the reclamation of 5,000 acres and planting them with palm trees in the New Valley

The visit of Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, to the New Valley Governorate today witnessed an agreement between the Ministry and the Governorate to reclaim 5,000 acres and plant them with palm trees. A tripartite cooperation protocol will be signed between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the New Valley Governorate, and the Rural Industries Support Fund to begin implementing the project at the beginning of next year 2026.

The visit of the Minister of Social Solidarity to the New Valley Governorate witnessed a visit to the June 30 Park, accompanied by Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot, Governor of the Valley.

 The Minister of Social Solidarity planted a palm tree in the June 30 Park, in support of the presidential initiative to expand palm cultivation and enhance date productivity in the governorate.

Dr. Maya Morsi also inspected the Government Departments Complex for Smart Services, and Major General Mohamed Al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley, briefed her on the components of the complex, which includes the governorate office, the directorate building, the building for dealing with the public, the building of multiple government agencies, and an administrative building for the governorate general office, A commercial mall, a land reclamation fund building, a solar energy station, a sewage treatment plant, a drinking water purification plant, a drinking water well, a multi-purpose hall, a theatre, a VIP Bedouin tent for VIP visitors, sports fields, a fire station, an ambulance point, fire tanks, and the gates and walls of the complex, in addition to utility network works. After that, the Minister of Social Solidarity and her accompanying delegation held a meeting with the Governor of the New Valley and the leaders of the governorate, where ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the governorate in a number of areas of joint cooperation were discussed.

Dr. Maya Morsi and Major General Mohamed Al-Zamlot, the Governor of the New Valley, also visited the Social Solidarity Directorate at the Interests Complex for Smart Services. In the governorate.

The Minister of Social Solidarity was keen to meet with the employees of the directorate, and was also briefed on the services provided by the directorate to citizens.

She was also keen to meet the citizens who frequent the directorate, and listened to their opinions on the services provided to them.

She also inspected the nursery located in the Department of Smart Services Complex in the governorate, which was established to facilitate the employees of the administrative apparatus and provide all services to the workers moving to the complex, within the framework of expanding the establishment of homes. Dr. Maya Morsi was briefed on the various services and activities provided within the nursery in terms of empowering and educating children.

Dr. Maya Morsi praised the quality of services provided within the nursery, which come within the framework of the National Program for Early Childhood Development.

She then went to inspect the charitable endowment farm project of the Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud Association, north of the village of Al-Munira in the governorate.

She briefed the Minister of Social Solidarity on the objectives of the agricultural project. Development project built on an area  200 acres in the city of Kharga, where the fourth phase of the project is being cultivated, as an ongoing, long-lasting charity.

Dr. Maya Morsi praised the project, which supports the sectors of development, agriculture and industry, and provides job opportunities for young people. The production revenue is also spent on ongoing charity projects, including preparing brides, dialysis sessions, purchasing medical devices, and sponsorships for treating patients.

The visit of the Minister of Social Solidarity to the New Valley Governorate witnessed the inspection of the silk production unit. In the city of Kharga.

Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot reviewed the goal of the unit, and what distinguishes the New Valley, which makes it capable of establishing the first integrated center for the production of natural silk, as this comes in implementation of the President of the Republic’s directives to the government to localize the industry and production of natural silk in Egypt.

She also met with Dr. Maya Morsi  Social pioneers in the governorate, in the presence of Major General Muhammad Al-Zamlot, Governor of the New Valley.

The Minister of Social Solidarity stressed the important role played by social pioneers and supporting community volunteer work in a way that serves social development issues and increases the efficiency of providing services to deserving groups.

Dr. Maya Morsi pointed to the role of female pioneers in community awareness and direct communication with citizens, which contributes to raising awareness, changing negative behaviors and confronting false ideas, within the Ministry’s various initiatives and programs, in addition to introducing citizens to The services provided and how to benefit from them.

The visit of the Minister of Social Solidarity to the governorate included the opening of economic empowerment projects at the vocational training center of the Social Solidarity Foundation in the city of Kharga, where a date production and packaging unit was opened, a publications production unit, paper and aluminum cup manufacturing workshops, a coffee manufacturing unit, and a ready-made clothing factory, as part of the projects aimed at providing job opportunities for young people and achieving a sustainable return that benefits the social programs that the Foundation provides to the first families. The Minister of Social Solidarity inspected the Vocational Training Center and met with its workers, where she was informed of their efforts in operating various productive projects, including operating mechanisms and expansion plans to ensure the sustainability of returns and achieve the organization’s goals in serving the local community, and enhancing youth participation in economic and social activities.

The Minister of Social Solidarity concluded her visit to the New Valley Governorate by opening the Social Rehabilitation Society annex project to the Hassan Helmy Center for People with Disabilities, which includes fitness halls and medical clinics. And residential and commercial units.

After the opening, Dr. Maya Morsi inspected  The center’s handicrafts and environmental exhibition, praising the level of services provided by the center to integrate and empower people with disabilities.

It also opened the residence for female expatriate students affiliated with the Social Solidarity Foundation, and praised the level of furnishing of housing and accompanying services available.
