The Minister of Supply directs to raise operating efficiency within speculator companies…and strengthen the production system

The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Sherif Farouk, directed to raise operating efficiency within the Mudarib companies, maximize the use of available production capacities, and develop work methods in a way that reflects positively on the quality of the final product and the stability of the supply, stressing the need to adhere to periodic maintenance plans, modernize the production lines, and achieve the highest rates of discipline within the affiliated companies.

This came during the expanded meeting held by Dr. Sherif Farouk, today, Sunday, with the heads of the boards of directors of the Mudarib companies affiliated with the company. The Holding Company for Food Industries, within the framework of monitoring the performance of companies and enhancing the efficiency of the production system, to ensure the availability and stability of basic commodities in the markets, especially rice.

The meeting was attended by Walid Abu Al-Majd, Deputy Minister of Supply, Dr. Alaa Naji, Managing Director and CEO of the Holding Company for Food Industries, Ahmed Kamal, Assistant Minister and official spokesman for the Ministry, Sarah Al-Azzazi, Head of the Central Administration for the Affairs of the Minister’s Office, along with Engineer Ali Abdel Aziz, Advisor to Mills, and Engineer Amr Mustafa, Head of the Warehousing Sector at the Holding Company.

The Minister explained that the current stage requires complete coordination between the Ministry of Supply, the Holding Company for Food Industries, and subsidiaries, to ensure the achievement of the state’s strategic objectives in securing basic food commodities, stressing that the Ministry is continuously monitoring the companies’ performance to achieve economic efficiency, serve citizens, and maintain price stability.

The meeting witnessed a review of the position of the current stock of rice, work plans during the coming period, and the challenges facing speculator companies, in addition to discussing ways to develop The storage and transportation system, which contributes to reducing waste and improving the efficiency of circulation within the system.

The Minister of Supply stressed the necessity of continuous follow-up to implement what was agreed upon, submitting periodic reports on production and supply rates and inventory levels, and dealing immediately with any obstacles, stressing that the development of speculator companies represents one of the basic pillars of the food security system, ensuring the continued availability of rice to citizens with appropriate quality and stable prices.
