The Mufti of the Republic meets with the Director of the Imam Al-Laith bin Saad Center for the Jurisprudence of Coexistence

Dr. Nazir Muhammad Ayyad, the Mufti of the Republic, met in his office, today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Fatwa House, with Sheikh Ahmed Bassiouni, director of the Imam Al-Layth bin Saad Center for the Jurisprudence of Coexistence, one of the new centers affiliated with the Fatwa House, and some gentlemen sheikhs who are members of the center. To discuss the features of the center’s first launch and its scientific plan to serve issues of coexistence and coexistence.

During the meeting, the Mufti of the Republic affirmed that the establishment of the center comes within the framework of Dar Al-Iftaa’s vision to expand its scientific and intellectual activity, and to invest in the legacy of the great Egyptian imams in building a solid religious discourse that enhances the values ​​of tolerance and mutual respect, noting that Imam Al-Layth bin Saad represents one of the models. Shining light in the history of Islamic thought, as it combined breadth of knowledge, purity of understanding, and breadth of mind, which are the values that the Center seeks to translate in its studies and future projects.

The Mufti of the Republic also directed the need for the Center to adopt a clear vision that focuses on highlighting the concept of the jurisprudence of coexistence from a solid scientific perspective, while opening the horizons of cooperation with research centers inside and outside the Center. And organizing scientific activities that contribute to introducing new generations to the spirit of authentic moderate jurisprudence, appreciating the sincere effort made by those in charge of the center, stressing that Dar Al-Iftaa will remain an incubator for every scientific project that serves the purposes of Sharia law, and enhances the tolerant image of Islam in people’s consciences.

For his part, the director of the Imam Center, Al-Layth bin Saad, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Eminence the Mufti. For the constant support and guidance it provides, he stressed that the center seeks, in its founding phase, to build a solid knowledge base and develop an integrated research plan that addresses issues of coexistence from a contemporary jurisprudential perspective, inspired by the approach of Imam Al-Layth bin Saad in openness and diligence, noting that the center is working on preparing a group of introductory studies and seminars in preparation for launching its scientific activity in an expanded manner during the period.
