The Muslim Council of Elders congratulates the Egyptian Fatwa House on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of its founding

The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, congratulated the Egyptian Fatwa House; On the occasion of its celebration of the 130th anniversary of its founding, as one of the most ancient religious institutions that played a pivotal role in consolidating the enlightened, moderate Al-Azhari approach and enhancing societal awareness through more than a century of responsible fatwa work. Disciplined fatwas, spreading moderate thought, supporting societal stability, and consolidating the values of compassion and coexistence, stressing that the house represents an important model of sober institutional religious work within Egypt and the Islamic world.
On this occasion, Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary General of the Council of Muslim Elders, expressed his sincere congratulations to His Eminence Professor Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and to the family of the House. The Egyptian Fatwa House, stressing that “the Egyptian Fatwa House has provided, over 130 years, a solid model of fatwa based on science, discipline, and the centrist Azhari methodology, and has contributed significantly to confronting extremist thought and promoting correct religious awareness.” Serving the nation’s issues, and making contemporary scientific and research contributions that meet the needs of society and answer contemporary issues, wishing it further success and prosperity in performing its religious and national mission.
