The ‘must-have’ $49 item from Kmart every woman will love – and it’s an affordable alternative to a $4,600 buy

A good designer trench coat can cost a fortune, but Kmart Australia is staying on trend with the release of its affordable alternative for just $49.

The ‘must-have’ Longline Trench has arrived just in time for the cooler Autumn months – and it’s available in sizes six to 20.

Fashion-forward shoppers who can’t afford to splash out on a classic Burberry trench coat, which can cost upwards of $4,590, can grab the purse-friendly item from Kmart for a fraction of the price.

Described as a ‘regular fit’, the natural beige coat features a drop-shoulder design, lapel neck, long raglan sleeves, shoulder tabs, button closure, adjustable tie-waist belt and two pockets.

Perfect for layering over a fancy dress and heels or wearing casually with jeans and sneakers, the trench coat is set to be a crowd pleaser this season.

‘Autumn is coming and you know what that means… trench season,’ Kmart said in its video.

‘The $49 trench coat you’ll want to be spotted in.’

Shoppers are loving the new item, with many calling the trench the ‘perfect’ staple for their wardrobe.

‘I need that trench,’ one said.

The stylish trench coat comes after shoppers went wild over a $38 Kmart item, with many calling it the ‘perfect dupe’ of a sell-out $445 designer piece. 

The budget retailer’s Long Sleeve Belted Denim Mini Dress looks almost identical to Australian fashion label Aje’s Dione style.

Both collared black denim dresses feature long balloon sleeves, buttons down the front, belt loops, side pockets and stitching details.

Despite the significant price difference, the cheaper dress lacks some key features – including Aje’s signature gold accent buttons and belt.

Aje is widely known for its high-quality materials, bold silhouettes, vibrant colors, and luxury pieces with unique prints.

Fashion blogger, known as Kmart Insider, shared her excitement over the affordable alternative to the high-end dress, which was so popular that it sold out everywhere.

‘Kmart sure Aje’d well. Losing it over this $38 dupe of the sold out Aje Dione Denim Dress that retailed for $445,’ the fashion blogger said on her Instagram.

Many customers couldn’t believe the similarities, with some suggesting it’s perfect for those who can’t afford to fork out hundreds of dollars on designer labels.
