The Russian Embassy in Egypt denies seizing any Russian planes

The press secretary of the Russian Embassy in Egypt, Ilya Vodianov, told RIA Novosti that information about the detention of Russian aircraft in the country is incorrect.

No aircraft were captured or impounded, said the representative of the Russian diplomatic mission. The information regarding the arrest of any aircraft by the Egyptian authorities is incorrect.

The Russian Embassy in Cairo also reported that the departure of the flight on the night of March 5-6 by Ural Airlines on the Sharm El Sheikh – Moscow route was postponed due to the closure of the airspace of European Union countries to Russia.

The company was working on an alternative route for the return of the Russians to their homeland. All passengers on the plane were accommodated in hotels.
