The truth behind Aaron Rodgers’ mysterious ring at the Kentucky Derby… and how baby hopes could end his NFL career

Aaron Rodgers has found himself at the center of wedding speculation following his appearance at the Kentucky Derby – but sources close to the legendary quarterback insist he hasn’t secretly tied the knot.

Rodgers, who was previously engaged to actress Shailene Woodley, was spotted at Churchill Downs this weekend as he soaked up all the action on the track for the Run for the Roses. 

The 41-year-old cut a dapper figure in a black suit on the red carpet at the 2025 Barnstable Brown Gala, but it was one accessory in particular that truly caught fans’ attention. 

Rodgers, who is still considering his NFL future after leaving the New York Jets at the end of the 2024 season, sparked a frenzy after he was spotted waring a dark band on his left ring finger. 

Social-media users zoned in on the ring, with many speculating that he has made things official with mysterious girlfriend ‘Brittani’ this offseason.

However, a source close to the four-time MVP played down rumors that he has officially said ‘I do.’ 

Yet, they didn’t deny that Rodgers may have popped the question and kept the happy news under wraps as they did admit he wants to marry Brittani and start a family soon.

‘If Aaron is married, he isn’t telling anyone about it, all he has mentioned is that he wants to marry Brittani and wants to be a father,’ the insider told DailyMail.com. ‘But if he has, that’s still the million dollar question. But the moment he will be a father is when he is done playing football. 

‘One thing that has slowed down him signing with the Steelers is because he wanted to find a way to somehow sign with the Vikings, but since that isn’t happening, he could still be convinced to retire, and that is if Brittani were to get pregnant. 

‘Aaron is a very particular person, and he will make his playing decision within the next few weeks, and if he is married, he will mention that on a future Pat McAfee appearance. People close to him think that he isn’t officially and it might be a promise ring.’ 

Rodgers is notoriously tight-lipped on his private life but did reveal back in December that he had found love.

He told Pat McAfee and the rest of the crew that he has a new girlfriend named Brittani, though he did not go into any further details on who she is or how they met.

Rodgers was discussing buying Christmas presents for loved ones when he casually dropped in that he is dating again.

‘I was a little bit worried because there was one package left for my girlfriend Brittani that hadn’t showed up yet, so I’d been waiting on this to show up,’ he said on ESPN’s daily sports talk show. ‘It showed up today so everything is great now.’

After laughing off a joke from a member of the crew that he’s dating Britney Spears , Rodgers confirmed that his girlfriend’s name is the version spelt with an ‘i’.

He revealed that his new love interest is not on any social-media channels after joking that she probably doesn’t watch McAfee’s show despite being a fan of the ESPN host.

Rodgers gave another rare insight into his ‘serious’ relationship last month as he opened up on personal issues he was handling during the NFL offseason. 

‘I’ll set it all straight. From the jump, I’m in a different phase of my life, I’m 41 years old, I’m in a serious relationship, I have personal commitments I’ve made… and people in my inner circle battling difficult stuff. To make a commitment to a team is a big thing,’ he confessed while discussing his free agency on the Pat McAfee Show. 

Rodgers’ last public relationship was with actress Shailene Woodley , with the pair going their separate ways in 2022 after two years together.

Prior to his romance with Woodley he dated some high-profile figures in former racing car driver Danica Patrick and another actress in Olivia Munn.
