The United States is studying the capabilities of Venezuela’s air defense as air attacks are imminent

Arab Defense Website – November 15, 2025: For the second day in a row, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kaine returned to the White House for discussions about the possibility of military action in Venezuela, according to US officials who spoke to the Wall Street Journal.
In a brief statement about the American position, President Donald Trump said: “I have made up my mind about Venezuela, but I cannot tell you what it will be.”
The CVW-8 Aviation Wing aboard the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is studying Venezuela’s air defense networks, while discussions have expanded to include the possibility of using special operations forces as part of any future operation.
According to a person familiar with the ongoing discussions, pilots aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford are familiarizing themselves with Venezuela’s air defense capabilities, but do not yet know whether they will receive orders to carry out strikes.
A map was also published showing potential military targets in Venezuela.
Yesterday, the United States announced Operation Southern Spear, with the aim of “removing drug-related terrorists from the Western Hemisphere.” With the arrival of the Gerald Ford carrier strike group in the Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) area, the United States can launch ground strikes at any time.
Venezuelan airspace became empty and regular, forcing planes to follow an alternative route outside the Caribbean. At the same time, the Soles cartel’s barracks are on maximum alert in anticipation of a possible American attack.
