Tom Brady walks his cloned dog after Miami gym session – months on from revealing bizarre move for beloved pet

Tom Brady has been spotted out with his dog, five months after revealing that she is a clone.

Last year, the NFL star revealed that his young pooch Junie was copied from his beloved Lua, a pit bull mix who died two years earlier.

Shortly after his announcement, the seven-time Super Bowl winner was spotted out on a walk with Junie, who is, unsurprisingly, a spitting image of his old dog.

On Wednesday afternoon, his pet returned to the spotlight as she accompanied the Las Vegas Raiders owner for a trip to the gym in Surfside, Florida.

The former New England Patriots star, who was sporting his own ‘NOBULL’ merchandise and had a bag dangling off his shoulder, led Junie to his car before they made a swift exit.

Back in November, Brady revealed the reasons behind cloning his old family dog after working alongside biotech company Colossal Biosciences.

In a press release obtained by People, Brady explained: ‘They mean the world to me and my family.

‘A few years ago, I worked with Colossal and leveraged their non-invasive cloning technology through a simple blood draw of our family’s dog before she passed.’

As a result, Brady and his three children got a ‘second chance with a clone of our beloved dog,’ the quarterback said.

Brady, with his now-ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, adopted Lua in 2014, a beagle named Scooby in 2015, and a terrier named Fluffy in 2016.

Lua died in 2023, shortly after the couple’s divorce. Brady also has a black pit bull mix named Onyx.

Brady’s admission, however, drew mixed responses as the internet reacted to the news, with Dave Portnoy among those to label the move as ‘weird’.

The press release also announced Colossal Biosciences’s acquisition of Viagen Pets and Equine, which has cloned dogs for the likes of Paris Hilton and Barbra Streisand in recent years.

And it is not just singers and jocks reproducing their pets. Argentina’s President Javier Milei has admitted to having his dog, Conan, cloned no fewer than five times.

The NFL icon, who was dripped out in his own 'NOBULL' merchandise and had a gym bag dangling off his shoulder, led Junie to his car before they made a swift exit.

Prices can vary from $50,000 to $85,000 per pet. And given that roughly 920,000 shelter animals are euthanized in the United States each year, mostly due to overcrowding, critics have urged owners against trying to clone their animals.

Meanwhile, recently, Brady was forced to dismiss accusations of hypocrisy by endorsing Pizza Hut and Dunkin’ Donuts, despite following a rigid diet of his own to maintain his age-defying physique.

The 48-year-old is well known for his ‘TB12’ diet, which has even seen him cut out vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes and peppers because he believes they are not anti-inflammatory.

He went a lot further in 2015, saying that sugary cereals and soda drinks were ‘poison’ for kids.

But more than ten years later, Brady has changed his tune after partnering with the brands he once so fiercely opposed for lucrative television commercials.

Fans were stunned this year to see him working with fast-food giant Pizza Hut, while he has repeatedly starred in Dunkin’ Donuts commercials.

‘It’s moderation in all things,’ Brady told CNBC. ‘I think there’s probably been people who have gone overboard with the kind of rigidity of my lifestyle or diet.

‘I have kids, and I have Halloweens and birthday parties, and we’re like a normal family. I understand the reality of life as well.’
