Overnight, the IRGC reported via Iranian state media that its forces had struck a data centre of American tech company Oracle in Dubai.

The IRGC Navy Command said it launched an attack on the Oracle facility following a series of threats by the Iranian military that it would target US tech facilities located across the Middle East.

But Dubai’s media office has denied Iran launched a strike on the centre.

In two successive posts on social media platform X, the office denied the strike had taken place, calling the IRGC’s claims “Fake News”, and “fabricated and untrue”.

Information about the Iran war is highly controlled in Dubai and it’s not immediately possible to verify claims as citizens and residents have been warned they face prison if they post or discuss it on social media. The Detained in Dubai campaign group last week reported more than 100 people had been arrested for cybercrimes.

The Revolutionary Guards said it had targeted an Amazon cloud computing centre in Bahrain overnight. Earlier this week, it said it would target American companies, including Microsoft, Google, Apple, Meta, Oracle, Intel, HP, IBM, Cisco, Dell, Palantir and Nvidia, in the region.
