US Senator Lindsey Graham dies at 71
US Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina died on Saturday evening after a brief and sudden illness, the communications director for his office said in a post on X early on Sunday.
A member of the upper chamber since 2003, Graham was a vocal advocate for a muscular and hawkish foreign policy. He also went from being a vocal critic of President Donald Trump to his most vocal supporters, particularly pushing the president amid the war in Iran.
Graham, 71, was a prominent Republican senator from South Carolina.
“Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period,” his office added.
