US Senator Lindsey Graham dies at 71

US Senator Lindsey ⁠Graham of South Carolina died on Saturday evening after ⁠a ​brief and ⁠sudden illness, the communications ⁠director for ​his ⁠office said ‌in a post on X ‌early on Sunday.

A member of the upper chamber since 2003, Graham was a vocal advocate for a muscular and hawkish foreign policy. He also went from being a vocal critic of President Donald Trump to his most vocal supporters, particularly pushing the president amid the war in Iran.

Graham, 71, was a prominent Republican senator from South Carolina.

“Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks ‌for privacy ​during ‌this incredibly ⁠difficult period,” his ⁠office added.
