Wild moment a furious Kmart shopper confronts teen over ‘dangerous’ prank

A young Aussie has sparked outrage over a confrontation with an angry stranger in Kmart after his prank backfired terribly.

The prankster from Adelaide filmed himself approaching an older man with dreadlocks before the exchange escalated.

In the underwear section of the store, the teen approached the customer and asked him for the time on his phone.

As the man pulled out his phone, the teen reached over and pretended to tap the customer’s phone while playing a recording of the Apple Pay sound.

In a clip shared on TikTok, viewers could clearly see the teen was simply playing a pre-recorded sound.

But the shocked customer had no idea it was a prank and demanded what was going on.

‘What are you doing there?’ he asked as he stormed towards the prankster.

The teen repeatedly apologised as he tried to back away as the furious man demanded to hand over his phone.

‘Nah, give me that phone right now,’ the man ordered said.

‘Can we just talk?’ the teen asked as the customer tried to snatch the phone away.

‘Chill, chill, you’re going to break my phone!’

His efforts to defuse the situation were unsuccessful.

‘What the f**k did you do to my phone?’ the angry man asked as he eventually snatched the prankster’s phone from him.

The clip then cut off and viewers didn’t see how the situation ended.

Apple Pay allows users to pay for items by hovering their Apple device over a payment terminal.

When a payment is completed, a distinctive noise rings out. However it’s not possible to exchange funds simply by tapping one phone against another.
