Zoë Kravitz Calls Out ‘Tacky’ Harry Styles Joke After Engagement

Zoë Kravitz has put Hulu on blast after they made a “tacky” joke about her relationship with Harry Styles to promote her cancelled series High Fidelity on social media.

The actress, who is rumoured to be engaged to the singer after being spotted wearing a HUGE diamond ring on her left hand last month, played Robyn Brooks in the 2020 romantic comedy series based on the 2000 film of the same name, starring her mother, Lisa Bonet. The show received positive reviews from critics, but was cancelled after just one season.

Now, six years after Hulu axed High Fidelity, the streaming service shared a social media post promoting it alongside a Harry Styles-inspired caption.

“Robyn Brooks definitely has Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally on her playlist,” they wrote, referencing Harry’s most recent album release.

The post was up for a few days before Zoë left a comment, writing “this is tacky” and tagging the Disney-owned platform, before they deleted it.

Fans weren’t too surprised by the Big Little Lies star’s response, with one person posting on X (formerly known as Twitter): “I’d be pissed too if the network that cancelled my show used my personal life as advertisement six years later.”

Zoë has very openly criticised Hulu’s decision to cancel the show in the past, calling it a “big mistake” in an interview with ELLE and leaving disapproving comments on Instagram.

“It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of colour we can watch. Oh wait,” she wrote on Instagram in response to Tessa Thompson sending her condolences.

Since then, she’s starred in the films The Batman and Caught Stealing alongside Austin Butler, made her directorial debut with Blink Twice, and played a fictionalised version of herself in The Studio. She’s also expected to reprise her role in Big Little Lies’ upcoming third season — so let’s just hope there aren’t any “tacky” jokes made on that set.
