Germany announces a decrease in the occupancy rate of gas storage to 60%

Sebastian Bleich, executive director of the German Association of Underground Gas Storage Operators (INES), said the occupancy rate of gas storage facilities in Germany has fallen below 60%.

He notes that the occupancy level of storage facilities is today around 59%, a level that has become a “historic low” compared to previous years.

The real winter is still ahead, Blechki noted, so such stocks “must be handled with caution.” He warned that buying gas “will be difficult in light of the current market situation.”

Earlier, the administration of the new German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the launch of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will not change the price of gas.
