The attacker, who had a knife and an iron rod with him, tried to attack the police. As a result of the arrest, he was shot dead. The identity of the attacker and his motives are being established.

Up to 200 Jewish families live in Rouen.

Today, in Stockholm, police detained several people who opened fire near the Israeli Embassy. The fact is under investigation. It is not yet known whether there is a connection between the incident and the Israeli diplomatic mission.

According to the Israeli Ministry of Diaspora Affairs, after the attack on the south of Israel on October 7 last year by the Palestinian Hamas, recognized as terrorist in the United States and the European Union, the number of anti-Semitic statements on the Internet around the world increased by 1180%.

The number of calls for violence against Jews increased by 400% compared to the period before the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip in response to the Hamas attack and by 340% compared to the same dates in the previous month. The majority of content is published in Arabic (71%) and English (28%).

According to Tel Aviv University, in France in 2023, after October 7, the number of anti-Semitic incidents increased by almost 285% – to 1,676 cases.
