Burj Al Arab Airport Customs arrests an attempt to smuggle a quantity of foreign currency

Customs officers at Burj Al Arab International Airport were able today, Friday, to arrest an attempt to smuggle a quantity of foreign currency.

 

Customs stated – in a statement today – that while completing passenger inspection procedures Arriving from Amman, the shift chief suspected two Egyptian passengers of passing their bags through an “X-RAY” screening machine. She notices the presence of foreign objects with different densities, noting that when the bags were searched using the individual x-ray device, it was found that there were cash amounts inside the bags in the form of packages wrapped and wrapped inside personal clothing, with a total of one million and 129 thousand and 500 Saudi riyals.

The supervisor of the General Administration of Air Ports Customs decided to take legal measures and write a customs seizure report No. 4 of 2024.

 

This comes in implementation of the instructions of Al-Shahat Ghatouri, head of the department. Customs to tighten control over airports and customs ports and thwart all attempts at customs evasion.
