The North Korean government has banned citizens from laughing and drinking alcohol for 11 days, according to the Daily Mail. The restrictions relate to the anniversary of Kim Jong Il’s death.

In addition, North Koreans are prohibited from showing signs of humor in crowded places. The ban will continue during events commemorating the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong Il’s death.

Local sources also reported that citizens are forbidden to go to shops on December 17 – the day of the death of the former leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. But these are not all limitations.
