Conditions for the transition to virtual reality

Raja Kodori, Senior Vice President and Head of Graphics at Intel, said humanity’s transition to virtual reality will require computers that are much more powerful than current ones.

“Robust real-time computing in the virtual space that can be developed and made available to billions of people in real time will require computational efficiency 1,000 times greater than today’s technology,” the specialist wrote on the company’s website.

He said that in addition to computers, new software architectures and algorithms will be needed to make the project a reverse reality. So far, there is no official data on how much computing power is required for metaverses, which the head of Meta “Mark Zuckerberg” plans to create.

With the computing power described by Kodori, Metaverse will not only represent a large number of multiplayer games and applications, but will become a complete continuation of reality. We are talking not only about stationary devices, but also about mobile devices, for example, smartphones.
