HIV finder calls for children to be vaccinated against COVID-19

Robert Gallo, director of the University of Maryland Institute of Human Virology and co-founder of the Global Virus Network, spoke about why it’s important to vaccinate children against the coronavirus.

According to him, people at risk and those receiving medical treatment – the elderly, heart patients and cancer patients – should be at the forefront of vaccination.

The doctor also advocated vaccinating children – and noted that vaccinating a child is a common practice he encounters in the first days of life.

Speaking about COVID-19, Gallo said, “There is one important point, children in general have more resistant bodies to the virus, but this does not negate the fact that they can be carriers of the virus.”
