South Korean scientists reveal an unexpected cause of Alzheimer’s disease

Metabolic syndrome increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease by 11.48 times. This conclusion was reached by scientists from South Korea, who conducted a study of the relationship between the two diseases, as the Daily Express wrote.

“We expect that the relationship between metabolic syndrome and dementia will vary depending on the type of dementia,” the researchers said.

In this case, they define metabolic syndrome as a combination of diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.
During the study, the scientists analyzed data from 84,144 patients aged 60 and over.
