California closes beaches due to shark attacks on surfers

San Luis Obispo County and neighboring counties in California,Public beaches closed after a deadly shark attack on a surfer.

The accident occurred, on one of the beaches of San Luis Obispo – a 31-year-old man was attacked by a shark, after which he went missing and was declared dead after a while.

According to Morro Bay Port Patrol Chief Eric Endersby, this is the first fatal shark attack in California in 18 years.

“Fortunately, the weather and wind destroyed the waves, so there aren’t many surfers, but we’ve closed the waters for safety reasons,” Andersby said.

He noted that the weather was the cause of only one death from the shark attack – and Endersby believes there could be more casualties.
