Dubai, April 30 / WAM / The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure hosted the event of the second edition of the “French Maritime Day”, which is part of the joint cooperation initiatives between the UAE and France in the maritime sector.

The event – which aims to strengthen strategic partnerships and exchange experiences and technologies between the two countries in the field, and which was hosted by the Ministry at its office in the Emirate of Dubai, in cooperation with the “Business France” agency affiliated with the Government of France – witnessed the participation of Her Excellency Nathalie Kennedy, Consul General of the Republic of France in the Emirate of Dubai, and a number of officials. sector in the two countries, experts and specialists, in addition to a group of national and international maritime companies who presented technical presentations and workshops on the latest technologies, innovative solutions and modern technology in the maritime industry.

The event highlighted the role of technology and modern technologies as a driving and enhancing force for the growth of the maritime industry, which contributes to supporting the vision of the wise leadership aimed at diversifying the economy and enhancing the competitiveness of the national maritime sector and its attractiveness to international investors, in addition to innovation in creating a new era for the maritime industry.

The future of sustainability in the maritime sector was discussed in line with the outcomes of the Conference of the Parties (COP28), and future plans supporting the UAE’s efforts to develop the maritime economy, achieving the sustainability goals set by the International Maritime Organization, reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, and innovative solutions in providing opportunities to increase efficiency. Reducing environmental impact and improving sector safety standards.

Her Excellency Engineer Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure for Maritime Transport Affairs, stressed the importance of this event in strengthening the bonds of cooperation between the UAE and France, explaining that “French Maritime Day” reflects the common desire to develop vital sectors that contribute to advancing sustainable development and supporting environmental conservation efforts.

Her Excellency stressed the importance of innovation in the marine energy sector and environmentally friendly technology and said: “We are committed to developing sustainable solutions that serve our common goals of protecting the environment and improving the efficiency of energy consumption, which will reflect positively on environmental solutions and the blue economy,” stressing that the solutions developed through these partnerships will be It has a far-reaching impact on both the marine and environmental industries.

She said: “We will continue our national efforts at an accelerated pace to enhance the process of achievements achieved by the UAE in the maritime sector, in line with the vision and directives of the wise leadership, and enhance progress in implementing the state’s policy in the maritime economy in a way that consolidates the sector’s position, and supports the efforts of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in this direction.” “And reaching global leadership by the UAE Centennial 2071.”
