German scientists: COVID-19 asymptomatic can lead to organ damage

Asymptomatic COVID-19 has consequences. This conclusion was reached by a group of scientists from Germany, according to the European Heart Journal.

Researchers warn that even a mild course of the disease can cause damage to various organs. In particular, a person may have decreased lung capacity, increased airway resistance, heart problems, decreased kidney function, and an increased risk of venous thrombosis in the lower extremities.

According to scientists, the data obtained are of particular interest, because the Omicron strain, which today is actively spreading throughout the world, is often asymptomatic or mild.
