The United Nations Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, warned of the consequences of the possible Israeli ground operation on Rafah.

Griffiths stated in a press statement that this operation leads to more victims who fled to agencies providing aid in the south. Gaza, despite the world’s demand not to carry out this operation, indicating that the Israeli ground operation is a disaster that threatens humanitarian efforts.

Griffiths welcomed the reopening of the Erez crossing in northern Gaza to transport aid, and stressed the need to protect civilians and meet their needs.
