The collapse of part of the Great Wall of China

An earthquake in China led to the collapse of a section of the Great Wall of China about two meters long.

The 6.9-magnitude earthquake reportedly occurred in northwest Qinghai Province. The epicenter was located 114 km from the collapse site.

According to the Global Times newspaper, the earthquake occurred in a sparsely populated area, but was felt by a number of major cities.

The accident resulted in the injury of nine people. No information was provided on the victims.
