3.4 million tourists in South Korea during the first quarter

SEOUL, April 29 / WAM / The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization said today, Monday, that the number of tourists visiting South Korea during the first quarter of 2024 reached about 3.4 million visitors, recording a quarterly record since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Korean news agency, Yonhap, reported that the number of tourists in the country reached 1.39 million visitors last month, rising to a monthly record since the Corona pandemic, as the number in the first quarter rebounded to 88.6 percent of the level of the same period in 2019, and the number of tourists reached a month. In March, it reached only 97.1 percent of the level of the same month in 2019.
