The Israeli Ministry of Health, the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, doubles the body’s defense against infection

The Israeli Ministry of Health said that the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can double the body’s defense against infection and triple protection against severe diseases in the age group of 60 and over.

The information was obtained by analyzing the data of 400,000 Israelis who received a second vaccination, in addition to 600,000 citizens who received three doses.

On December 27, the Israeli Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv began vaccinating volunteers with the fourth dose of the coronavirus vaccine, the first study of its kind in the world. The study included 150 health care workers who received a booster dose in August. All patients were vaccinated with Pfizer/BioNTech.
