The Republic of Korea Air Force has completed the deployment of 40 fifth-generation F-35A fighters purchased from the United States.
According to military sources, the last batch of fighters arrived this week in Korea. They were greeted at the airport in Chungju City, Chungcheongbuk-do Province.
According to the original deal, deliveries were supposed to be completed last year, but the coronavirus pandemic prevented that from happening.
The fifth generation F-35A is a development of the American aircraft manufacturer Lockheed Martin. It can hit air and ground targets. Each one costs $75 million.
