The Emirates News Agency participates in a discussion session at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair
ABU DHABI, 2nd May / WAM / The Emirates News Agency, WAM, participated in a discussion session entitled “Media and Promoting Human Fraternity” organized by the Council of Muslim Elders as part of its participation agenda in the 33rd session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2024 at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre.
During the session, His Excellency Mohammed Jalal Al Raisi, Director General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), stressed during the session the importance of the role of the media and its institutional and societal responsibilities in enriching the values of tolerance, peace, coexistence and harmony between all components and individuals of society, and confronting speeches of discrimination, hatred, extremism and racism.
His Excellency noted the great interest that the leadership and government of the UAE attaches to promoting the principles of human brotherhood and noble ideals common to all peoples of the world without regard to origin, color, race, religion or creed, pointing in this regard to many pioneering humanitarian initiatives and programs that were launched from the UAE. For his part, Abdo Jadallah – Head of the Editorial Department at the International Media Investments Company – touched on the importance of having press, radio, television and digital programs and projects that contribute positively and sustainably to consolidating the fundamental and vital role that the media plays in the field of raising the values of respect and acceptance of the other in light of what the world is witnessing.
