“Squinted eyes, an egg in the middle of the forehead…”

Celine Dion is an open book and is willing to say everything about her private life. She has just revealed that she was taken to the emergency room for an improbable reason…

Celine Dion continues her big media comeback after having made numerous media appearances in the United States in recent months. The diva, who suffers from stiff man syndromeis now displayed in the pages of French Vogue, May 2024 edition. And in a video published by the magazine, the 56-year-old singer indulged in some confidences about some of her most iconic looks. Especially the one who took her to the hospital!

3 kilos on the head!

One of her most memorable outfits was the one she wore on her wedding day with great fanfare to the man of her life: René Angelil. The impresario and the singer, then aged 26, said yes to each other on December 17, 1994 at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal. And for the occasion, Céline Dion wore a silk dress adorned with an immense six-meter-long train which required no less than 1,000 hours of work… And a tiara made of more than 2,000 Swarovski crystals! Magnificent certainly, but above all very heavy since the imposing tiara weighed nearly three kilos and it had been sewn directly onto the diva’s hair to hold firmly throughout the evening.

“I had trained and everything was fine, but when I had to walk in the cathedral, it wasn’t a wooden floor, it was a carpet. It felt like an immediate facelift. I felt asked if I was going to make it. Was I going to be able to reach my future husband? But as I told him: ‘Oh, I’m going to run to you’.Céline Dion tenderly explained in said video. “When you are so happy, there is no weight, there is no problem, there is no pain”she then said, remembering an evening without any pitfalls.

Celine Dion in the emergency room

Which wasn’t really the case when she took off her tiara. “When we took off the tiara, I got a cut because the pressure was too much”first reported the interpreter of For you to love me again. Before specifying: “The next day, I wake up, I look in the mirror, I have the size of an egg in the middle of my forehead… It’s so huge that my eyes are squinting”. Finally, Celine Dion went to the emergency room where doctors gave her antibiotics for three weeks (even so!). “It’s a moment that will stay with me for the rest of my life.”she finally quipped.

As usual, Céline Dion also had a word for her husband, who died in 2016, at the age of 73. “The dress [gigantesque et tendrement moquée dans le film Aline de Valérie Lemercier, ndlr] Couldn’t have been big enough. I could have had three times more volume on my head. I could have worn six different dresses that night because he was, and still is, a wonderful human being. He brought out the best in me. He really did it.”declared the emotional mother of René-Charles, Eddy and Nelson.

Note that Céline Dion, whose persistent rumor predicts a return to the stage at Resorts World from Las Vegas next fall, will discuss his life, his career and his fight against illness in the documentary I Am: Celine Dionexpected on Amazon Prime Video on June 25, 2024.
