The Palestinian President expresses his appreciation for Spain’s principled positions and support for the Palestinian cause
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed, today, Saturday, his appreciation and gratitude to Spain for its principled and consistent positions towards the issue of the Palestinian people throughout the decades of their legitimate struggle.
He appreciated the A letter he sent to Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, supporting Spain to achieve just peace and stability in the region, especially in light of the Israeli occupation’s continued aggression against the Palestinian people, its repeated calls for an immediate ceasefire, and its contribution to alleviating the catastrophic situation that the Palestinians are suffering through, by providing aid. Humanitarian and relief efforts for them, without restrictions, and valuable and important efforts to recognize the independent State of Palestine and implement the two-state solution.
Abu Mazen assured the Spanish Prime Minister, “We and our Palestinian people have complete confidence.” “With your wisdom and experience, and with Spain’s approach to achieving justice and respect for human beings and their rights, you will take the appropriate decision, in a manner consistent with the interest of your friendly country, whose values and principles we cherish and its pursuit of international peace and stability.”
