German companies present their sustainable and therapeutic tourism offers in the Arabian Travel Market

DUBAI, 9 MAY / WAM / The German National Tourism Office, along with 15 exhibitors representing cities, airports and hotels in Germany, participated in the 31st session of the Arabian Travel Market at the Dubai World Trade Center, to strengthen Germany’s relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council region and present its offers. Sustainable and diverse therapeutic tourism.

The German National Tourism Office described the Arabian Travel Market, which concludes its activities today, as a cornerstone of strategic communication within the Gulf Cooperation Council region, explaining that it allows communication with travel professionals and decision makers throughout the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. He stressed that the exhibition provides a platform to strengthen partnerships and give an in-depth look at the latest travel trends and preferences in the region.

Yamina Sofo, Director of Marketing and Sales at the German National Tourism Office in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, said that the Arabian Travel Market is a pivotal element in her country’s annual agenda, pointing to highlighting Germany as a leading travel destination while highlighting the commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.

Dmitry Belov, marketing officer at the Dusseldorf Tourism Authority for the Middle East and Asia, stressed the keenness to participate in the authority’s pavilion in the Arabian Travel Market and showcase the tourist, hotel and therapeutic components and facilities for which the city is famous, which is one of the most important German and European destinations.

Elena Hope, responsible for the Helios Medical Tourism Group, noted the interest in medical tourism as her country is known for providing high-quality health care to patients from all over the world.

Katja Heuer, representative of Dusseldorf Airport, said that the airport is the ideal gateway to Europe, and it is the fourth largest airport in Germany currently, and receives 5 flights daily from the Arab Gulf countries.

The German pavilion reviewed innovative marketing strategies focusing on sustainability in the tourism sector, in line with Germany’s cultural heritage and natural landscape, to dedicate the country as a prime destination for environmentally conscious travelers.

The Arabian Travel Market exhibition focused on the importance of the Gulf market for the German tourism sector, as it is considered one of the three largest foreign markets with its rapid recovery after the pandemic.

Statistics from the beginning of 2024 showed great flexibility in this market, after travelers from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries recorded 128,745 overnight stays in Germany during the first two months alone.

Tourism companies presented the most prominent upcoming events that constitute an additional source of attraction, such as the 2024 European Nations Cup, which will be held from June 14 to July 14.

The Munich Tourism Office considered that the UAE is one of the office’s five most prominent foreign markets, which confirms its importance as one of the most famous countries encouraging tourism and exporting travelers.

The list of partners of the Munich Tourism Office participating in the exhibition includes a group of hotels, destination management companies, centers specialized in medical tourism, representatives of Ingolstadt Village north of Munich, and a number of airline agents.
