Meta introduces a system for personal boundaries after ‘raping’ a woman in the Metaverse

Meta will introduce a system to protect users’ “personal boundaries” in the metaverse following reports of the “rape” of a woman’s avatar.

The company noted that the “personal border” monitoring system will create a feeling that the distance between the avatars in the services is about 1.2 meters, which cannot be violated.

Earlier, a user of the online Meta game Horizon Venues said that she experienced virtual sexual violence on the service.

According to her, several avatars with male voices touched her avatar on different parts of the body and took screenshots at that time.
