WHO rules out synthetic origin for ‘Omicron’

WHO Special Representative Melita Vojnovic said. She considers assumptions about the synthetic origin of the “Omicron” strain of coronavirus to be unfounded.

Voinovich made this statement, commenting on the suggestions of experts that the Omicron strain could be created specifically to defeat the epidemic. She noted that “there was a lot of speculation even about the Corona virus itself.”

“I seriously doubt that this expert opinion is supported by specific data,” Vujnovic said.

According to her, a large scientific study is being conducted, but there is no indication of the artificial origin of the new breed. Scientists are working on a vaccine that will prevent infection, but no one in the scientific community is seriously considering creating a free-moving virus.

“It’s like a myth that always comes up when something bad happens in the world.” “But there is no scientific justification for that,” Vujnovic explained.
