The Head of State: Our armed forces will remain a shield for the nation and a pillar of its progress
Abu Dhabi, 5 May / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, confirmed that the 6th of May is one of the glorious and immortal days in the history of the UAE. On this day in 1976, one of the most important decisions regarding the nation was taken, which was the unification of our armed forces, which strengthened the pillars of the union and consolidated the experience of unity that the founder, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his fellow rulers worked on, “may God rest their souls.”
His Highness said – in a speech he addressed to members of the armed forces on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of their unification – on this precious occasion, I extend my greetings and appreciation to all members of our armed forces in its various branches, and I thank them and commend their hands and value their national role, their sincere giving and their steadfastness in preserving the nation’s gains in various fields.
The following is the text of the speech addressed by His Highness the President of the State to members of the armed forces on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the unification of the armed forces, in which he said: //
May 6th is one of the glorious and immortal days in the history of the UAE. On this day in 1976, one of the most important decisions in the nation was taken, which was the decision to unify our armed forces, which strengthened the pillars of the union and consolidated the experience of unity that the founder and his fellow rulers worked on, may God bless them.
On this precious occasion, I extend my greetings and appreciation to all members of our armed forces in its various branches, and I thank them, extend my support to them, and value their national role, sincere giving, and steadfastness in preserving the nation’s gains in various fields.
I also praise the patriotic values they possess and represent our dear homeland by helping the needy and afflicted in disaster and crisis areas.
On this day, we have mercy on our righteous martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the Emirates and its authentic values, and set the most wonderful example of love for the homeland and sacrifice for it.
Our Armed Forces will remain a shield for the nation, a protector of development, and a pillar of progress in the UAE //.
