Hong Kong lockdown due to new wave of COVID-19

The Hong Kong government plans to impose strict restrictions regarding the spread of new strains of COVID-19.

He notes that there are already many closed businesses in the city due to the fact that corporate employees, especially those working in the service sector, get sick and are isolated. The Restaurant and Catering Association has already announced its support for the idea of ​​a one-week shutdown in Hong Kong.

A new wave of infections began in Hong Kong in the winter at the beginning of 2022. The daily number of new cases rose from a few hundred to 34,000.

“Those providing essential and emergency services should not be affected by the restrictions and should have a way to leave their homes,” said Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam.
