UN adopts resolution condemning Russia’s operation in Ukraine

The United Nations General Assembly, during a special session on Wednesday, adopted a resolution condemning the Russian operation in Ukraine.

Representatives of 141 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 5 against, and 35 abstentions.

Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Russia voted against it.

Earlier, Russia blocked a document similar in content to the UN Security Council. The decision of the General Assembly is not legally binding. The authors of the project are the United States and Albania – they demanded that Russia stop the process of disarming Ukraine. The document also condemns Russia’s recognition of the self-proclaimed LNR and DNR.
