ABU DHABI, 21st May / WAM / Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, launched the Rabdan Center for Security and Defense, a think tank and opinion center specializing in security and defense studies, during the work of the “ISNR 2024” conference.

The center comes within a strategic initiative led by Rabdan Academy, a global leader in the fields of safety, security, defense, emergency preparedness, and crisis management.

The Rabdan Center for Security and Defense, as a strategic think tank, provides analysis, research and recommendations to policy makers on security and defense issues related to the Middle East, in addition to enhancing understanding of security dynamics in the region and helping to identify potential threats, opportunities and challenges.

His Highness also witnessed part of the readiness episodes, the first youth dialogue platform specializing in security and defense fields within an initiative led by Rabdan Academy, which hosts an elite group of specialized experts with the aim of empowering young people and educating them in artificial intelligence, security technology, national defense and other topics, which contribute to strengthening the national security system. And readiness and readiness at the state level.

His Excellency James Morse, President of Rabdan Academy, said: “Our vision is to promote peace, stability and security in the Middle East and beyond through careful analysis and provision of strategic policy recommendations, and the involvement of stakeholders around the world, including policy makers, thought leaders, organizations and experts.”

He added that the Rabdan Center for Security and Defense reflects a unique model in the United Arab Emirates by focusing on security and defense issues that are not addressed by current think tanks, and it is an exceptional addition in terms of the type of outputs it provides.

Morse announced that the center will begin its first operational phase with a strategic partnership with the Middle East Institute in Washington, the global research center specializing in Middle East and North African affairs, by focusing on security and defense fields, stressing that it will provide a high-level network of senior researchers, academics and experts from around the world. In addition to harnessing modern technical tools and means in developing and managing scientific research.

The Center’s interest focuses on a number of specialized strategic research areas, such as geopolitics, energy security, human security and conflict resolution, military capabilities development, defense technology, defense industries and innovation, regional security cooperation, civil-military relations, terrorism and extremism, border security and migration, weapons proliferation and control. These include: cyber security, disaster risk assessment, emergency management and response.

Dr. Naji Al-Sayari, Director of the Research and Innovation Department and Acting Dean of the College at Rabdan Academy, said: “We look forward to launching partnerships with other think tanks, specialized international research centers, academic institutions, and organizations working on international security and defense issues at the regional and global levels.”

Al-Sa’ari explained that this qualitative initiative will contribute to developing international dialogues with the participation of policy makers, diplomats and experts to exchange ideas and visions, as well as developing research papers in the field of policies, reports and high-level media briefings on international security issues affecting the Middle East region and beyond.

The center will work to conduct accurate research on current and emerging challenges in the field of security and defense from the perspective of the Middle East region, organize conferences, workshops and seminars, and highlight expert analyzes and comments on international security and defense issues, in addition to providing recommendations to policy makers, military leaders, governments and international organizations.

This initiative provides constructive cooperation with government agencies in the United Arab Emirates and international think and opinion centers to improve the strategic planning system and support relevant decision-making.

The launch of the “Rabdan Security and Defense Center” came during the “ISNR 2024” conference, which is organized by the Ministry of Interior and the Rabdan Academy in cooperation with the ADNEC Group at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, for its important role in providing a platform that enhances global stability and hosts an elite group of CEOs, leaders and experts specialized in the fields of… Police, security, crisis management and cybersecurity.
