The Arabic edition of the Chinese President’s book "Belt and Road Initiative" in "Abu Dhabi Book"
ABU DHABI, 29 APRIL / WAM / As part of the activities of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2024, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center organized the presentation ceremony of the Arabic edition of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s book “The Belt and Road Initiative,” which he launched in September 2013 to promote exchange, cooperation and innovation in various fields between… China, European and Asian countries.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE, His Excellency Mohammed Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center, and His Excellency Du Zhanyuan, Chairman of the Chinese International Media Group.
His Excellency Zhang Yiming praised the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and its constant development, noting that it has become one of the largest and most influential book fairs in the Middle East.
He expressed his happiness at organizing and presenting the Chinese President’s initiative in Arabic during the exhibition, which gives a strong Chinese character and opens a new window for Arab readers to explore the effects of cooperation within the framework of that initiative.
The attendees stressed the necessity of Arab-Chinese cooperation through several initiatives that help bridge the gap in terms of cultural differences and languages, and strive diligently to build a common destiny between China and the Arab countries, and formulate economic and political policies that lead to international relations based on interests leading to the common destiny of humanity.
During the book presentation ceremony, the main session was held, which was moderated by Liu Shuangyan, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Chinese International Media Group, and focused on Chinese-Emirati and Arab relations, during which representatives of a number of centers specialized in Arab-Chinese affairs spoke.
The speakers emphasized Arab-Chinese cooperation through several initiatives that led to rapprochement despite differences in culture and languages, thanks to the scientific and practical importance of the Chinese President’s initiative, which will deepen communication between peoples and mutual learning on the basis that peoples always converge. It is noteworthy that the People’s Republic of China was the country’s guest of honor at the activities of the twenty-seventh session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in 2017.
