Olivia Rodrigo holds the Billboard Woman of the Year award
Singer Olivia Rodrigo has been named Woman of the Year 2022 at the Billboard Women in Music Awards.
“It’s not always easy being a young woman in the music industry, but I found strength in the women who came before me and paved the way and opened doors for people like me,” Rodrigo said.
“I want to tell all the little girls who write songs every day in their magazines, and on the floor in their bedrooms, that your weakness, your creativity and your courage touch me.”
Billboard’s biggest rising star is Gabby Barrett and Icon of the Year is Bonnie Wright.
Previously, Billboard had declared it the most played song of all time. The song “Blinding Lights” by Canadian musician The Weeknd.
