Zelensky chooses Jerusalem as a place to meet Putin

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described Israel as a possible place to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to settle the situation.

“We are not talking about technical meetings, but about a meeting of leaders. Do I think that Israel can be such a land, especially Jerusalem? I think yes,” Zelensky said during a meeting with representatives of foreign media in Kyiv on Saturday.

“We spoke with the Israeli Prime Minister. I also told him that I consider it wrong, and unconstructive to meet in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. These are not the points where we can find understanding and stop the war.”

He added that he had a positive attitude towards Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett’s mediation in settling peace issues between Ukraine and Russia.

He also said that Israel should be among Ukraine’s security guarantors.
