The outbreak of the H5N1 avian influenza virus on a large scale and predictions of a new global epidemic

An outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza was recorded on a farm in Romania near the border with Bulgaria.

According to the World Organization for Animal Health, the disease has spread to the city of Oinako. As a result, 6,770 birds died, and the remaining 34,000 birds also had to be destroyed.

Last December, bird flu was reported to have killed more than 2,000 cranes in Israel. Despite the fact that the virus hits the country every year, this outbreak has been much stronger than in previous years. Experts described the number of dead birds as “exceptional”.

According to experts, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic in the world, a global epidemic of bird flu may occur, which can kill up to a billion people.
