Biden attends the launch of the latest nuclear submarine

US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill attended the commissioning ceremony of the latest Virginia-class nuclear submarine, USS Delaware.

Biden thanked those who participated in the construction of the submarine Delaware. Reportedly on Fox News, the submarine carries torpedoes and is poised to launch Tomahawk cruise missiles and is designed to perform a wide range of missions in the ocean and on the coast.

The Delaware is the seventh US Navy ship to be named after the State of Delaware. Its construction began in 2013. The ship is intended to be a less expensive alternative to the Seawolf-class attack submarines and to replace older, retired Los Angeles-class boats.
