Macron authorizes ban on energy supplies from Russia

French President Emmanuel Macron has authorized the imposition of a new package of sanctions against Russia over the situation in the Ukrainian city of Bucha.

According to him, the European Union could move forward with discussing the issue of imposing an embargo on Russian oil and coal supplies.

He added that the discussion of new restrictions imposed on the Russian Federation at the European level should take place in the coming days.

Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities and a number of foreign media published information about the massacres of civilians in Bucha, at the hands of the Russian army. In response, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Bucha’s repeated video and photo frames, as well as subsequent statements by the West, are “custom-made history.”

The Russian Defense Ministry called Kyiv’s accusations of the Russian military “another provocation”, and photos and videos of Bucha – “another production of the Kyiv regime for Western media.”
