Tom Hanks working on the WWII series for Apple TV +

65-year-old Tom Hanks (Forrest Gump, The Green Mile) will serve as producer of the new project Lords of the Air for Apple TV +.

The series revolves around young American pilots who go into World War II. One of the main characters will be played by Austin Butler, best known for playing Elvis Presley in a biographical film about the rock and roll legend.

The release date and number of episodes of the new series have not been revealed. As part of the contract with Apple TV+, Hanks will participate in other projects for the streaming service.

The actor has already worked on films dedicated to military themes. In 2001, the mini-series “Band of Brothers” was released. Hanks served as one of the directors and scriptwriters for the project. The drama also takes place during the events of World War II.

Disney+ just released its first look at the new Pinocchio. Tom Hanks played the main role in the film about the revived doll – and he will embody the puppeteer Geppetto on the screen.
