Croatia objects to Sweden and Finland membership in NATO

Croatian President Zoran Milanovic opposed Finland and Sweden’s NATO membership before the issues in the Balkans were resolved.

The President spoke in particular of the need to change the electoral legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in favor of Bosnian Croats. He also said that he considered the inclusion of Sweden and Finland in NATO a “dangerous charlatan”.

“However, we cannot say no, because Finland is more important to us than Croatia and Croatia in Bosnia and Herzegovina?” said the Croatian president.

Milanovic also admitted that he is not against the joining of these countries to the alliance, adding that it is like “pushing an angry bear in the eye with a pen.” However, this problem can be solved only after a number of conditions are met.

“Until the issue of the election law in Bosnia and Herzegovina is resolved, until the Americans, British and Germans compel Sarajevo and the leader of the ruling Democratic Action Party, SDA, Bekir Izetbegovic in the next six months to change the electoral law and provide basic rights to Croats, President Sabor (Croatian Parliament) does not dare ) to ratify anyone’s accession to NATO.”
